We are partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed fintech company building infrastructure that sits at the centre of how businesses move and manage money. The business has strong product-market fit, a rapidly expanding customer base and the backing of leading investors. Having built a differentiated platform in a highly competitive market, the company is now scaling quickly and investing in the leadership needed to support its next phase of growth.
This is a pivotal hire. As the company’s first Chief Financial Officer, you will take the finance function from founder-led to institutional-grade, owning strategy, planning, capital and controls. You will be a true partner to the CEO and the board, shaping how the business grows, raises capital and operates within a regulated environment.
WHAT EXPERIENCES YOU WILL GAIN
- Building and leading the finance function, hiring and developing a high-performing team as the business scales
- Owning financial strategy, planning and forecasting, with a sharp focus on unit economics and profitability
- Leading future fundraising, investor relations and board reporting
- Overseeing treasury, cash management and banking partnerships
- Working closely with legal and compliance on regulatory, licensing and audit requirements
- Establishing the controls, systems and reporting needed for the next stage of growth
- Partnering with leadership on pricing, capital allocation and long-term strategic decisions
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the founders on the commercial direction of the business
ABOUT YOU
Essential
- Experienced finance leader (CFO, VP Finance, or a strong #2 ready to step up)
- Background in fintech, payments or financial services
- Track record of raising capital and managing board and investor relationships
- Comfortable navigating regulatory complexity and the operational detail of money movement
- Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed start-up or scale-up strongly preferred
- Hands-on, commercial and happy to build from the ground up
- Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco
